Final Paper
There are definitive differences between managing employees in the public sector versus the private sector. For instance, nearly 40% of employees in the public sector are members of a union, whereas only about 8% are in the private sector. For the final eight full page paper, analyze at least five principle challenges of managing employees in the public sector versus those in the private sector.
Focus of the Final Paper
Analyze at least five principle challenges of managing employees in the public sector versus those in the private sector. Then, create a strategy for how a public sector manager can overcome each of these challenges. Below is an example:
Challenge #1: Lack of motivational tools for public sector employees.
Explanation: Government agencies are precluded from offering bonuses and stock options to motivate their employees.
Strategy to Overcome: While agencies are precluded from offering bonuses and stock options, they may offer broader training opportunities and greater advancement opportunities.
This project will require you to research information related to public personnel management. Some of the information may not be readily available in course materials, requiring you to research contemporary management trends in the public sector.
